Fans Have Bold Reaction to Kate Hudson's Hygiene Practice She Shares With Matthew McConaughey: 'You're Not Cool'
Kate Hudson made a bold revelation about her hygiene practices this week, and claims her former co-star Matthew McConaughey shares the same affinity—or lack thereof.
During a stop by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the musician finally put what the host dubbed "an old urban legend" to rest as she looked back on her time filming Fool's Gold with the Wolf of Wall Street star.
As legend is said to have it—and Cohen tried to clarify—the Bride Wars star tried to force her fellow lead to stock up on deodorant during the shoot, but upon hearing the claim, Hudson seemed offended by the implication, quickly telling Cohen, "No!"
While McConaughey is well-known for rocking his natural odors, it turns out that Hudson hasn't adopted the product into her daily routine, either, with both choosing to be "au naturels"—despite the fact that she "could smell him from a mile [away]" while they were working together.
While there were certainly a few folks who shared the celebrities' hesitation, with some suggesting natural alternatives, the vast majority were mortified to learn their preferences, with one admitting, "The more I hear from people in Hollywood, the less and less I like them."
"Oh no!" a second wrote, declaring, "Under arm smell is the worst smell," while someone else simply said, "Yucko ??."
"I promise, no one else wants to smell you," another agreed. "Please wear some sort of deodorant."
"No No No. Please wear deodorant," the begging continued. "Nothing worse than body odor."
"Imagine being super rich and wearing clothing that costs thousands of dollars but smelling like BO. ??," another mused.
"You’re not cool for not wearing deodorant," someone else asserted, while another begged, "Wear deodorants folks, please ??."
To her credit, and by McConaughey's own admission, Hudson does seem to subscribe to natural alternatives, with the actor himself being the one to start the urban legend.
“She always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, ‘Would you please put this on?’" he recalled in a previous interview with Playboy, per the Daily Mail. "I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant."
