Fans Call Lainey Wilson a ‘Class Act’ for Bringing Fan on Stage to Sing With Her in Special Moment

Lainey Wilson was a bit of a fairy godmother to one lucky fan during her visit to Today on June 25, bringing an 11-year-old fan named Payton on stage to sing with her and gifting her tickets to her NYC show.

The Today show shared the moment on social media, posting a video of Wilson singing "Heart Like A Truck" with Payton standing beside her, seemingly starstruck. With the help of Wilson, Today and Make A Wish, Payton, who has cystic fibrosis, was able to achieve her wish of meeting Wilson, with the tickets a bonus.

The sweet moment only made fans love Wilson more, with quite a few people commenting to declare her a "class act."

Some emotional fans wrote, "This made me tear up!! ????," and "ok..watching this and bawling ?? Just when I thought I couldn't love you more," while another added, "@laineywilson is the BEST??."

"All class!!!! ?????? never gave up and talented BEYOND!!!," replied someone else, as a different fan said, "Lainey is one amazing human!??????." The love continued, with many sharing support for young Payton as well.

In an interview with the little girl during another part of the show, Payton explained that she plays the guitar. "She's inspired me to continue with my music. Me and my friends, we started a band so we could express our music together and she's just been a real role model," she said of the country crooner.

Wilson appeared to get emotional hearing Payton's comment, and soon after, the "Watermelon Moonshine" singer surprised Payton and her family with tickets to her concert at Radio City Music Hall the next night. She said they would hang out together and get the "whole ordeal," adding, "It's gonna be so much fun."

The Yellowstone actress and singer is currently touring the U.S. and Canada throughout 2024 ahead of her upcoming album drop, Whirlwind, that's out this summer.
