Fans Certain Carrie Underwood’s New Project Is ‘Going to Be Epic’
Carrie Underwood's duet with Cody Johnson is almost here and fans have no doubt it will be "epic."
In a rather emotional joint Instagram post from the two shared earlier this week, the "Dirt Cheap" crooner revealed his new song with the Grammy winner will be released later this month.
"Thrilled to announce that 'I’m Gonna Love You' is coming out next Friday, 9/27," the 37-year-old enthusiastically began in the caption of the Sept. 17 upload. "Thank you @carrieunderwood for joining me on this one and making it so special."
"Can’t wait for y’all to hear it," he added–a sentiment many social media users also expressed.
"I know this is gonna be good," one top-liked comment read. "Two amazing voices together. Carrie definitely knows how to duet."
"Ain’t even heard it yet, already thinking duet of the year," another declared.
"The duet Ive been waiting for!!!! ??," a different fan gushed.
"This is going to be epic!" someone else exclaimed in part.
Along with the big announcement, Johnson included several photos from his collaboration with the American Idol alum. In them, the two rocked chic, western-inspired outfits, with the 41-year-old country legend posing in a white macrame dress, boots and turquoise jewelry.
For his part, the "That's Texas" singer donned a dark denim jacket, matching jeans, a white collared shirt, brown cowboy hat and matching boots.
Johnson also teased the pair's new venture in a preview he shared on YouTube that same day, which seemingly featured a snippet of the new audio.
It's been a pretty big year for Underwood, collaborations aside, she spent many days this past summer on stage performing, confirmed her Las Vegas residency had been renewed into 2025 and expanded her career with a new judging gig on the show that first launched her to stardom.
