Fans Lose It as Taylor Swift Announces Major Update—Just Not the One They Were Hoping For

Taylor Swift fans were disappointed when the pop superstar didn't announce the release date for Reputation (Taylor's Version) during her final London Eras Tour show on Aug. 20.

However, Swift made up for it by debuting a brand new music video at the concert.

The 34-year-old took her final bow at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night before a music video for her Tortured Poets Department track "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" started playing on the big screens. Soon afterward, the video was available on YouTube.

In the YouTube comments of the new music video, Swifties lost it over the unexpected gift. "Mother never stops being the best mother," one fan declared.

"i am SO glad that we got behind the scenes footage, my life is complete," a second fan commented.

Another wrote, "taylor did the funniest thing by not announcing rep tv and instead giving us a video. i love our random queen."

Someone else commented, "Now we NEED a documentary."

Meanwhile, a different YouTube user pointed out, "And on a RANDOM Tuesday afternoon...we've been blessed."

Leading up to Aug. 20, fans speculated Swift would announce the re-recording of her 2017 album, citing many perceived Easter eggs and hints from the singer. Swift's new bodysuit—a dark blue bedazzled look featuring the design of a moon—for her Midnights portion of her Eras Tour concert was a hint about Rep TV.

Many also noticed that Swift seemingly made a slithering motion with her arm as a stage lift descended and took her out of sight at the end of a show in London. For Reputation, snakes are a main component of the imagery and lyrics.

Still other Swifties pointed out that the pop star signed "2-0" with her hands when she typically flashes "2-2" during her 1989 track "22."

Fans have incorrectly predicted Swift would announce Rep TV on multiple occasions. But this time, at least they got a brand new music video—as well as two surprise guests—instead of going home empty-handed!

Swift will now enjoy a two-month break from her Eras Tour before returning on Oct. 18 for three shows in Miami, Fla.
