Fans Are 'Not Thrilled' Over Starbucks' Slime-Inspired Halloween Cup
Starbucks is learning that you can't win them all, at least when it comes to its reusable cups.
While some Starbies loyalists pride themselves on collecting limited edition and seasonal releases–with many vying over its recent Halloween cold cup collaboration with Disney–the fall 2024 lineup of designs has left many unimpressed.
After being tipped off by an anonymous Starbucks employee, fast food influencer Markie_devo teased a photo of the upcoming Slime-inspired release on Instagram, noting the green and graphite gradient tumblers would launch later this month.
Fans of the nationwide chain of cafes were eager to make their opinion of the limited edition release known, with the most disappointed of them all flat out calling the cups "ugly" and "tacky."
"The fall cups are sooo ugly this year lol," one top-liked comment criticized.
"I wish they did a black and orange instead or black and purple, purple and orange or just royal purple over all ??," another suggested.
"Ehhh not thrilled but I also don’t collect cups so luckily don’t care," a different user added.
"Looks tacky," a third confessed. "I don't really see the element of halloween somewhere in the design."
"It's giving... 'I'll pass, thanks' ??," someone else joked.
Another admitted that they were under the impression the cups would be black this year, a rumor Parade editors–as well as several already in-the-know fans–can happily confirm, as Starbucks currently has two black pleated plastic metallic cold cups listed (16 oz and 24 oz) for sale on its website.
Despite the lack of "creativity," as one Instagram user put it, Markie_devo has it on good word that the green-gray cold cups should launch next Thursday, Aug. 15.
