Fans Play Matchmaker for Hoda Kotb and ‘Today’ Show Guest: ‘Would Be a Cute Couple!’

Hoda Kotb might be single now, but if fans—and Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager—had their way, she wouldn't be on her own for long.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, rock star Lenny Kravitz made an appearance on Today to perform material from his new album, Blue Electric Light, and his apparent chemistry with Kotb got people talking.

A clip shared to Instagram by Today's official account showed Kotb skipping happily to greet Kravitz before the pair shared a warm hug.

"The only way to greet @lennykravitz, tbh #todayshow #citiconcertseries #hodaandjenna," read the post's caption.

Commenters thought they saw sparks fly between the TV personality and the musician.

"Ya’ll are both single and would be a cute couple!" wrote one fan.

"Look at Hoda skipping over to Lenny!! I probably would fell and landed at his feet! lol ?? Lenny & Hoda!" commented a second Instagram user.

"I’d be skipping too????????," admitted a third person.

In a brief interview before his performance, Kravitz teased Kotb about her leather pants, saying she must have stolen them from his closet. Bush Hager took the opportunity to attempt to play matchmaker, as Decider reported.

“Listen, I know you’re in a new chapter. Are you looking for love?” Bush Hager asked.

"That’s an interesting question. I mean, always. Love is all there is," Kravitz answered.

“Well, I know of an electric lady if you want her number,” Bush Hager said. “She’s right here.”

That's when Kotb interrupted.

“Okay, anyway!” she said, attempting to move the conversation along.

Kotb announced her split from ex Joel Schiffman, whom she was engaged to after dating for eight years, in January 2022. Kravitz was married to Lisa Bonet from 1987 until 1993, and later dated Vanessa Paradis and Nicole Kidman, among others.
