Fans Play 'Where in the World Is Mariska' Hargitay as the Actress Posts Stark Photo From Undisclosed Location
Fans are desperate to track down Mariska Hargitay after the Law & Order: SVU star posted a nondescript photo to social media on Thursday, June 27.
The actress is clearly off to parts unknown during her record-breaking series' summer hiatus, though she's keeping mum about the specifics of her travels.
In a captionless snapshot posted on Instagram, Hargitay stood against two massive walls of concrete under a pale blue sky. Just the top half of her appeared over the wall of a set of stairs leading up to the open doorway to her right.
The photo was zoomed out, emphasizing the unsettling feeling of the stark gray structure.
Fans were obsessed with the snapshot from the "adventure queen," laughing over the lack of "caption or context."
"*plays Carmen Sandiego theme*," another wrote jokingly, referencing the classic game show Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
"Where in the world is Mariska Hargitay?!" they continued. "Wherever you are, I hope you're having an amazing time!! ????."
"I have absolutely no idea what’s happening here," one admitted. "But it’s still iconic af ??????."
Most, however, were pretty confident that Hargitay was spending time in Japan, though not everyone could agree on where she was posing. Some guessed she was at the Ando Museum in Naoshima—a space constructed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando to show off his impressive work—and others suggested it was the Chichu Art Museum—also designed by Ando and also located in Naoshima—she was visiting.
Based on an overhead shot of the property, we'd say that those guessing the art museum are very good at this game!
