Fans Praise John Stamos for His 'Beautiful Gesture' for Fan in Wheelchair at Concert
Fans are praising John Stamos for the “beautiful gesture” the singer and actor recently made for a fan he once met while performing at a concert.
The Full House star shared the story in a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, June 27. As he explained in the video, he was performing onstage with the Beach Boys “years ago” at a show in Nashville, Tenn., when he spotted the fan in question.
“I looked down and I saw this beautiful man named Gerald, and he was smiling from ear to ear, and he knew every word to every song,” the Fuller House actor recalled. “I said, ‘That guy is a rock star, I need to meet him.’”
After showing an image of Gerald, who uses a wheelchair, Stamos’ video then switched to a clip showing the two sharing a microphone onstage after the General Hospital actor had invited Gerald to join the band for their performance of “Barbara Ann.”
“We’ve been best buddies ever since,” Stamos, 60, informed his Instagram followers as the video switched to a view of the two talking over FaceTime.
The ER star then explained that he recently learned about Gerald’s drumming aspirations. A new clip showed Gerald using drumsticks on a beach ball, which Stamos decided was “not gonna work.”
With help from some of his connections in the music industry, the actor was able to coordinate getting a “really cool” drum kit delivered to his friend.
“Any time I have the chance to give the gift of music, I jump on it,” Stamos said. “And trust me, this kid’s gonna be a rock star. Have fun, Gerald!”
The video showed a couple of clips of Gerald playing with the new kit before ending with an image of him posing with Stamos for a photo.
Fans were touched by the moving video and raced to the comment section to praise Stamos and cheer for Gerald.
“What a Beautiful gesture @johnstamos ??,” one fan wrote.

One Instagram user said the video “brought tears” to their eyes as another said the world needs “more of this right now.”
