Fans Praise Swiftie's 'Creative' Taylor Swift-Themed Fantasy Football Draft
One of Taylor Swift’s fans concocted a special football-themed nod to the pop superstar in anticipation of the 2024 NFL season, which officially starts next week.
As revealed in a post on Reddit dated Thursday, Aug. 29, the Swiftie in question created a fantasy football draft inspired by Swift, 34. The list of players included the “Cruel Summer” songstress’ boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and 13 other players whose names the fan inventively linked to the 14-time Grammy Award winner and her songs.
“My sister in law picked fantasy football players that had some connection to Taylor Swift,” the person who shared the draft order on Reddit explained. “Her explanations for her picks are below. Thought this was so creative.”

D’Andre Swift of the Chicago Bears was an easy choice given his last name. Meanwhile, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was selected as a reference to Swift’s 2019 album Lover, according to the guide provided by the Redditor’s sister-in-law.
The reasons behind the other picks, though less obvious to non-Swifties, were still praised by fans online as they read through the names and decoded their meanings.

“This is so creative and I love it,” one person commented on the post as another agreed, writing, “This is such a fun crossover.”
“She can have more points than hardcore fantasy football fans,” one Reddit user offered.
The “Fortnight” singer has been credited with exposing new audiences to football after attending several Chiefs games in person during the 2023 NFL season. While many of Swift’s fans tuned into the games in the hopes of seeing the cameras pan over to her for reaction shots, others became invested in the sport over time and have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the new season.
With Swift now on a two-month break from her hit international Eras Tour, many suspect there will be new opportunities to catch sight of the megastar at upcoming Chiefs games. The 2024 season kicks off next week when the Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5.
