Fans React to Tim McGraw’s ‘Priceless’ Memory That He and Kenny Chesney ‘Still Laugh About to This Day’
Country music fans love the “priceless” memory that Tim McGraw shared with his social media followers on Friday, Aug. 9.
The “Something Like That” singer said it’s one that he and his friend, fellow country music star Kenny Chesney, still laugh about years later.
In a video posted on Instagram, McGraw reacted to a series of clips showing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cooperating as his young daughters painted his head, applied makeup to his face and adorned him with pink tutus. McGraw, 57, chuckled and nodded, noting, “I’ve been there. I’ve done all of that.”
After the short montage of Johnson and his daughters was over, the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer said he could “sympathize and empathize with him,” adding that he has “the same memories with my three daughters.”
The father of three then recounted a time when Chesney, 56, was over at the McGraw’s family home. The country hitmakers spent time by the pool when McGraw’s oldest daughter Gracie, now 27, “decided she wanted to paint our toenails.”
“So we’re laying in the sun out there, hanging out with the girls, and Gracie paints our toenails pink,” McGraw recalled. "And then the next week, we had the Academy of Country Music Awards out in L.A., and I was wise enough to remove the paint on my toenails.”
Chesney, who McGraw said had forgotten to do the same, remembered Gracie’s paint job while sitting outside a hotel pool in Los Angeles, Calif.
“Kenny comes down to the pool, takes his tennis shoes off and sits down beside me. And he had forgotten that his toenails were painted pink. So I’m sitting there, and Kenny is looking down and said, ‘Oh, god, I forgot to remove the toenail polish that Gracie put on my toes.’”
Years later, the memory is a fond one for both McGraw and Chesney.
“We still laugh about to this day that Kenny did the whole Academy of Country Music Awards with pink toenails,” McGraw said.
“AHHH ?? he rocked those pink nails though ????,” the Academy of Country Music Awards’ official Instagram account commented.
Fans similarly melted over the sweet memory in the post’s comment section.
“Love this so much ??,” one person wrote as another echoed the sentiment, writing, “I ?? that story!”
“That’s priceless!??,” one fan laughed while another declared, “those are memories that will last for a lifetime ????.”
“Great story!! Love McGraw & Chesney ??????,” one Instagram user wrote.
“What an awesome uncle Kenny!” another fan praised.
