Fans Are Seriously Split on Kim Kardashian’s Historic Jewelry at the 2024 LACMA Gala
So many celebrities arrived in style at the 2024 LACMA Art and Film Gala, including Kim Kardashian, who caused quite a stir by wearing a historic piece of jewelry for her look.
In case you missed it, on Nov 2, Kardashian arrived at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for its 13th annual gala. You can see the photos below:

As you can see in the photos, Kardashian wowed in a plunging, custom white gown from Gucci that was inspired by a dress from their 2004 Tom Ford line, but what really stole the show was the purple cross necklace. Now, why is this piece so important? Because it was the same necklace Princess Diana wore in the 1980s.
This necklace is called the Attallah Cross, which Diana wore back in 1987 at Birthright’s London charity gala. She donned it quite a few times in her life, making her the only person to ever wear it, until now.
Turns out, Kardashian purchased the necklace back in 2023 at Sotheby’s annual Royal & Noble auction for nearly $200,000.
Now, fans are seriously split on how they feel about her wearing this historic piece of jewelry. (Remember when she wore Marilyn Monroe’s dress at the 2023 Met Gala? It’s like that all over again.)
While some fans thought the homage was stunning, with X users saying things like “CUSTOM GUCCI AND THE ORIGINAL PRINCESS DIANA NECKLACE??? KIMBERLYYYYY!!!” and “THAT GURL;” there are also quite a few that hate this, to put it bluntly.
One X user said sarcastically, “I’m sure Diana would be thrilled ????” and another said, “If you are going to wear such a Sacred religious symbol at least wear it with some class as Diana did. Show some respect……”
