Fans shocked by winner of 'Celebrity Big Brother'
Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ross Mathews made it to the final vote of Celebrity Big Brother, where the jury shocked fans with their decision.
The jury consisted of the former celebrity houseguests, who chose Winokur over Mathews by a vote of 6-3. The choice surprised fans, given that Mathews played the game well, while Winokur simply followed Mathews’s lead.

When asked why she deserved to win, Winokur said, “I think the truth is, many things that I did with Ross and he came with these great ideas and I was like ‘OK, that sounds like a great idea, let’s do it.’ And I would laugh at them a lot of times and then I would do them.”

Many fans felt the jury voted out of their own bitterness rather than based on others’ gamesmanship. Ross was head of household many times and organized a slew of maneuvers, so he seemed to be the favorite.
When the jury implied that Mathews wasn’t as honest as Winokur, he replied, “I’m sorry about the lying but hello, it’s Big Brother. You have to if you are going to come in the house. You have to play this game!”
Winokur took home the $250,000 grand prize, while Mathews received the $50,000 runner-up pot. He got an additional $25,000 for being voted America’s Favorite Houseguest by the fans.
Mathews thanked the audience for the validation, saying, “I literally said in the break ‘Was I the villain?’ So thank you, thank you so much.”
