Fans Speculate A$AP Rocky Dissed Drake On New “Ruby Rosary” Track Feat. J. Cole
A$AP Rocky has gifted fans with another cut from his upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, and tapped J. Cole for the assist. “Ruby Rosary,” produced by The Alchemist, is a smooth offering that has fans speculating the Harlem rapper dissed Drake.
“N**ga want smoke with me, tell him, ‘Push up, Hercules’/ Hercules, tell him push up, tell him pull up, 33,” Rocky raps over the piano-led beat. Listeners think the bars could be an attempt to revive his feud with the Toronto star due to his “Push Ups” diss track from April.
The father of two continues, “Who in your top five? Haha (F**k your top five)/ I don’t get fresh to death, b**ch, I’m buried alive/ I heard dawg talkin’ funny, like it’s Family Guy/ Carin’ for n**gas like I’m Mary or Bob, made a promise to God/ You gotta strive when you marry the mob.” Mentioning “buried alive” could be a reference to Drizzy’s “Buried Alive Interlude” off of Take Care, while “dawg” could be a jab at For All The Dogs.
Although one could definitely make a case for the legitimacy of these shots, the “Peso” spitter assures he has “bigger fish to fry” than engaging in a rap war.
“You got to realize, certain n**gas was throwing shots for years. I ain’t in the middle of that sh*t,” Rocky said in an interview with Billboard last month. “That’s not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some p**sy boys. It is real beef outside. It is real. N**gas getting really clipped and blitzed every day. N**gas sniping n**gas every day. That little kitty sh*t ain’t about nothing.”
Don’t Be Dumb’s release has been pushed back to this fall, and so far, fans have been able to listen to “Taylor Swif” and “HIGHJACK” from the LP. Rocky’s last full-length project was 2018’s TESTING, which housed hits like “Praise The Lord (Da Shine)” and boasted guest appearances from Moby, T.I., Kid Cudi, FKA twigs, Skepta, Kodak Black, Frank Ocean, and others.
