Fans Speculate Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' Friendship Is on the Rocks After Chiefs Game
Last football season, Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes were often pictured in suites together cheering on Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce and Mahomes' husband, Patrick Mahomes—but the two stars seemed to be avoiding each other at the Kansas City Chiefs opener game on Thursday, September 5, and fans think politics might be to blame.
While Taylor was seen in a crowded suite at Arrowhead stadium alongside members of Kelce's family, Brittany watched the game with her daughter Sterling Skye from a different suite—a stark contrast from the games where the celebs were seen hugging and laughing.
Last month, Brittany made headlines when she liked one of Donald Trump's Instagram posts, which prompted the Republican presidential nominee to thank her on his Truth Social platform. Taylor, meanwhile, has yet to endorse a candidate in the 2024 election, but supported Joe Biden in 2020, when she accused Trump of "stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism" on social media.
Now fans are saying Taylor and Brittany's apparent political differences could be the reason why they weren't together at the game, with X users taking sides in the alleged rift.

"Happy to see Taylor with Travis’s family in the sky suite instead of Brittany Mahomes…," wrote one Swiftie.
"It's not only about her liking this post, but she has proven not be a very good person, the liking of the post sealed the deal. Taylor will remain friends with her for Travis, she won't create drama she knows how to handle herself with integrity and grace," agreed a second person, with another saying, "I knew that friendship was over."
Not everyone approved of the way Taylor and Brittany seemed to handle the situation, however.
"Imagine disowning friends over politics. No politician cares about anyone but themselves," commented someone else.
