Fans Tell Kelly Clarkson to 'Keep the Country Tunes Comin' After Latest Cover Song
Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson's latest cover has fans only wanting to hear more.
The very first American Idol winner—who has affectionately been dubbed the Queen of Covers for her powerhouse Kellyoke performances on The Kelly Clarkson Show—recently put on a "phenomenal" display of another country tune.
In her latest musical session on the broadcast, Clarkson and My Band Y'all put their own spin on a cover of 2010's "Why Don't We Just Dance" by Josh Turner.
For the presentation, the "Since U Been Gone" songstress appropriately rocked the casual outfit of a graphic tee paired with denim blue jeans and bold red lipstick, which couldn't be more fitting for the genre of the day.
Following the show, video footage was uploaded via YouTube, and fans urged her to "keep those country tunes comin’ why don’t you," while insisting she's "the coolest kind of country."
"I’m so in awe every single time she sings!!!!" one exclaimed in the comment section, while another said, "Her lower voice in this was outstanding," before going on to joke, "Josh turner: I’m going to retire after hearing this lol."
"If you were expecting Kelly to fail, then she apologizes. Oh my goodness, she’s phenomenal!" a third gushed.
Someone else admitted, "Always liked this song, never thought a female could pull it off but her voice is fantastic."
"I crave a country album from Kelly," an additional social media user added, even suggesting a name for the project: "Kellyoke Country...or Kelly Country if she would prefer original songs."
Loyal supporters of the three-time Grammy winner have been calling on a full country project from her for quite some time, so all we can say is... ball's in your court, Kelly!
