Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne to reprise role as Newt Scamander

Eddie Redmayne is reprising his role as Newt Scamander from the Fantastic Beasts films.

The magical-creature-loving naturalist isn't starring in a new movie, though, but an upcoming Harry Potter-inspired land for Universal’s Orlando theme park.

The Ministry of Magic, from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is reportedly the most elaborate land yet. According to Entertainment Weekly, it will merge timelines from all eight Harry Potter films and three Fantastic Beasts movies.

Within the land, visitors can explore a recreation of 1920s Paris and 1990s London, and travel around the huge hub zones using a Métro Floo transportation network.

Entertainment Weekly reports Redmayne has already filmed his scenes, which will be shown in areas around the park. One of the rides is centered on Harry Potter's battle at the Ministry, which uses omnidirectional technology to take riders up, down, forward, backward, and sideways.

There’s also a live show called Le Cirque Arcanus featuring live performers and aerialists, puppetry, and special effects. Harry Potter characters are also set to roam the land, but don’t expect to see Redmayne in the flesh. Instead, these characters will be exchange students from Hogwarts, and Aurors from the Ministry.

But what about Redmayne's reprisal in the next movie? Fantastic Beasts won’t return for a while, and here’s why. That's why Universal Orlando might be the last we see of Newt Scamander.
