Marvel’s upcoming big-screen take on the Fantastic Four has generated considerable excitement among fans. The movie, titled The Fantastic Four: First Steps, is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025, and updates regarding its development are gradually coming out. Pedro Pascal has been recruited to lead the team as Reed Richards, alongside Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn. The Crown actress will be portraying Sue Storm, a role previously undertaken by Jessica Alba. In a recent interview, Alba has come out to shed light on the experience of playing the character.
Jessica Alba says Vanessa Kirby just needs to ‘have fun’ as Sue Storm in MCU
The 43-year-old actress labeled working in the Fantastic Four movies as “one of the best times” of her life.
While promoting her show Honest Renovations on Collider, Jessica Alba dwelled on how it was for her to take on the mantle of Sue Storm while also giving advice to Vanessa Kirby. “I think just have fun. The fans are so amazing,” she said. The Sin City star also expressed gratitude over getting a chance to influence people’s lives in a positive way.
“It was probably one of the best times of my life, going around the world and meeting all of the people that just love The Fantastic Four and love these comic books and can relate to these stories,” she explained. “That, to me, and to be able to meet so many different people that you can touch and bring joy to them, I would say that’s first and foremost for anyone who gets the honor of playing one of these awesome characters,” Alba added.
In the process, Jessica Alba also put out a suggestion for Vanessa Kirby regarding her role as Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. She simply stated, “I’d tell her to just have fun and soak in the moments.”
There have been speculations regarding Alba’s return to Marvel, especially after the flurry of cameos witnessed in Deadpool & Wolverine. Nevertheless, MCU executives have yet to make a comment on the possibilities of Alba’s comeback.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps also features Julia Garner, Ralph Ineson, and Paul Walter Hauser.
