'Fast & Furious 9' Filming Stopped After Stuntman Reportedly Suffers Serious Head Injury
The accident involved a crew member at Warner Bros.' Leavesden Studios in the U.K. on Monday.
An Unfortunate Injury
It was reported on Monday that production for Fast & Furious 9 has been temporarily halted after a stuntman suffered a serious head injury on set. A spokesperson from Universal told The Hollywood Reporter:
"We had an injury on the set of Fast 9 today in Leavesden with one of our stuntmen. We have halted production for the day to focus on this situation."
Halting Production
The East of England Ambulance Service also released a statement about the issue:
"An ambulance, three ambulance officer vehicles and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Leavesden Studios shortly before midday today (July 22), following reports of a man injured in a fall. One patient with a serious head injury was transported to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance."
Projected Production
Hopefully the injured man will make a swift recovery and production will be back on track soon.
Fast & Furious 9 is set to hit theaters May 22, 2020 and stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
