'Father Figures' trailer: Owen Wilson and Ed Helms road-trip to find their real dad (exclusive)
Owen Wilson and Ed Helms are ready for some family bonding … if they can figure out which high-profile character actor is their dad. In the comedy Father Figures (in theaters Dec. 22), two brothers (Wilson and Helms) learn that the late father described to them by their mother (Glenn Close) is a lie.
Turns out that Mom was a wild thing in the ’70s, and their father could be one of any number of her former flings. The brothers decide to uncover the truth the only way that characters in a comedy possibly could: by taking a hijinks-filled road trip. Along the way, they meet such candidates as J.K. Simmons, Christopher Walken, Ving Rhames, and Terry Bradshaw (playing his four-time Super Bowl-winning self). And they only shoot one of them! (That we see in the trailer, anyway.)
Katt Williams also stars as a hitchhiker who is probably not a serial killer. Previously called Bastards, Father Figures is the directorial debut of Lawrence Sher, the cinematographer of the Hangover trilogy. Watch the exclusive new trailer above.
