Sep. 13—The New Mexico Film Office announced Friday an upcoming feature film was shot in and around several cities in the state, including Santa Fe, in July.

Hello Out There is filmmaker Otis Blum's feature debut. He is joined by producer Thomas Mahoney, known for Wild Indian and Only the Good Survive.

The film will star Chloe Bennet from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Phil Dunster from Ted Lasso.

The film office said in a news release Hello Out There follows "Minnie, a young journalist sporting a neck brace, and her cousin, fresh out of rehab, as they embark on a road trip across New Mexico."

"I have always wanted to tell a story that is not only set in New Mexico, but also highlights its beauty, magic, and unique strangeness," Blum said in a statement to the news site Deadline. "It's a place that means a lot to me, and it was so special to work with a primarily New Mexican crew telling a New Mexican tale."

The film employed over 150 New Mexicans including 70 crew members, 10 resident principal actors and 100 background talents, the film office said in a news release.
