Janet Levy and Farley Rentschler were chairwomen for the evening, where 12 local amateur dancers were paired with professionals in a "Dancing With the Stars"-style competition.
Louis van Amstel, national champion and professional dancer from "Dancing with the Stars," served as the night’s emcee.
Celebrity judges were Olympic gymnast and actress Cathy Rigby; businessman and "The Bachelor" alum Prince Lorenzo Borghese; and professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev, Season 29 winner of "Dancing with the Stars" and Emmy nominee for choreography.
Competitors were Diane Avonda, Victoria Herbert, Kerrie Lance, Gillian Lieberman, Joseph McNamara, Kristina Olsen Madden, Gina Sabean, Katherine Sheneman, Terry Duffy, Kyle Lucks, Rick Rose, and Bruce Sutka.
Lance was awarded the People's Choice Award for receiving the most votes and raising the most money before and during the event.
In addition to a cocktail reception, dinner and the competition, the event included a performance by international ballroom dancers Craig Smith and Andrea Harvey.
Max McNamara and Joseph McNamara were honorary chairmen.
“We are so grateful to everyone who supported the 2023 Dance the Night Away event,” said Stanton Collemer, CEO of CAHH.
“Each dollar we raise helps us to achieve our goal of providing emergency financial assistance to help cancer patients pay their non-medical expenses while they are undergoing treatment. The cost of cancer treatment is so formidable that it can deplete all family resources needed to cover fundamental expenses such as rent, utilities, food, transportation, pet care and insurance ... This assistance will, in many cases, prevent homelessness.”
