Feist Makes a Heartfelt Tiny Desk Debut: Watch

Feist stopped by NPR’s office in Washington D.C. to make her Tiny Desk Concert debut this week.
The singer and songwriter arrived in support of her 2023 album, Multitudes, and she opened the performance with a rendition of “In Lightning,” the record’s opening track. She then hearkened back to her 2011 Metals for “Caught a Long Wind” before playing “Hiding Out in the Open,” which Feist says is her attempt to encapsulate “300-and-whatever days of lockdown.” She returned to Metals for the set’s closing song, “The Bad in Each Other.” Watch the official video of the performance below.
Unlike last month’s heartfelt performance of “Love Who We Are Meant To” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where Feist performed solo with an acoustic guitar and her hand-written lyrics behind her, she arrived in company for her Tiny Desk show — her four-piece band, comprised of established songwriters and independent musicians, chipped in on vocal harmonies and helped bring the intricacies of Feist’s arrangements to life.
Feist recently concluded her 2024 tour supporting Sarah McLachlan, and has a few stray headlining dates to come in her native Canada. Get tickets to see Feist here.
