In ‘Fight Night’ Episode 5, Chicken Man And Detective Hudson Team Up
Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist takes viewers to 1970s Atlanta as the city begins to emerge with a new identity. The limited series premiered on Peacock earlier this month with the first three episodes, with new chapters released weekly on the streamer until all eight installments have premiered.
In this week’s episode, set to debut on Thursday (Sept. 19), two characters who had years of animosity unite for a common goal. The exclusive preview of episode 5 shows Chicken Man, played by Kevin Hart, and Detective J.D. Hudson, played by Don Cheadle, teaming up to get to the bottom of a partially botched heist that changed both of their lives forever.
The clip shows a slick-talking Chicken Man attempting to convince the detective that they have to work together. Hudson first laughs off the idea before hearing Chicken Man’s persuasive reasoning.
Fight Night also stars Taraji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Terrance Howard with Chloe Bailey, Sinqua Walls, David Banner, and more. Shaye Ogbonna serves as creator and showrunner alongside Jason Horwitch. Bryan Smiley and Mike Stein for Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat, Packer, and Sabrina Wind for Will Packer Media, Conal Byrne, Will Pearson, and Carrie Lieberman for iHeartPodcasts, Jeff Keating and Lars Jacobson executive produce alongside Hart and Packer.
“All of it was new to me. I mean, of course, I knew about [Muhammad] Ali and I knew about him refusing to go to Vietnam and fight in that war, and who he became at that moment and what he meant to the culture,” Cheadle explained to VIBE of the story. “But I didn’t know anything about this fight or what was happening in Atlanta at that time… that aspect of Atlanta as a cultural center for Black people in the specific way that it was.”
