The new offering will feature guest commentary from Amy Poehler, Colin Quinn, Malcolm Gladwell, June Diane Raphael and more
Casey Wilson and Jessica St. Clair have teamed up to teach you The Art of Small Talk in their aptly-named new audiobook, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the cover as well as a first listen to its trailer.
The podcast veterans, comedians and "self-appointed masters of small talk" worked together to compile what they call the "seven simple rules" listeners need to engage in better small talk and enhance connectedness in day-to-day life.
Wilson and St. Clair told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement, "We are thrilled to release the trailer for our soon-to-be Nobel Prize-winning audiobook, The Art of Small Talk. As self-appointed masters of the craft, we will teach you how a little chit-chat bull shat can not only brighten your day, it just might change your life."
In the trailer, the duo claims that their new offering will "change the course of history." For those averse to small talk, they add that doing more of it can "increase your level of happiness by roughly one billion percent."

Joined by friends such as Amy Poehler, Colin Quinn, Malcolm Gladwell, June Diane Raphael and others, the duo engage in humorous conversations that also contain genuine advice, tips and gems about small talk's benefits that listeners can apply to their own lives.
For example, Poehler comments in the trailer, "I think there's a lot to be said about fade-out as you walk away. So for example, small talk with my doorman, I never stop moving."
Arrested Development star Tony Hale reveals that upon meeting someone new, he has something inside of him challenging him to "crack the code," and figure them out. "There's a part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'm going to get to your trauma, buddy.' "
Gladwell, at another point, suggests that "the biggest blow to small talk was the decline of smoking."
Meanwhile, Raphael jokes about Wilson and St. Clair's boisterous claims by saying, "The only two people who have credentialed you 'masters of small talk'... are you."
In addition to those named individuals, the two authors also tapped a range of experts, including mental health professionals, to help explain the scientific concepts that root their simple, seven-step program in truth.
Readers can expect chapters to highlight small talk's significant role in life and even offer snippets of real small talk trainees. However, they maintain that at the end of the day, "it's not a book report," and make it clear in the trailer that their new offering will lean into their comedic sensibilities.
The Art of Small Talk will be available on May 7.
