First look at Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis on the 'Terminator 6' set

Filming for Terminator 6 is well and truly underway with Linda Hamilton but it looks like Mackenzie Davis’ character has faced a few of Skynet’s most dangerous too.

The Tully actress was pictured on the set of the new movie, which is being produced by original director James Cameron and directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller, in Madrid, Spain, having some make-up reapplied.

Davis had several straight white scars visible on her arms, chest, and neck as well as a jagged one on the front of her left shoulder.

Her battle-torn look makes sense considering she’s meant to be playing a soldier-assassin who is believed to be on a mission to protect Dani Ramos (Natalie Reyes) from a new Terminator played by Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

The new film is said to be the first in a trilogy which will also see the return of original Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hamilton as Sarah Connor, who was spotted on the Spanish set in pictures posted by theterminatorfans.com.

In the shots, she is wearing her a bulletproof vest complete with smoke canisters as well as a large black sunglasses and combat trousers, which makes it look like Sarah is still very much in the fight for survival against their robot overlords.

It looks like Edward Furlong’s version of John Connor, Sarah’s son, will make an appearance too but not by the actor. Jude Collie has been hired to play the young resistance leader but as a CGI stand-in so it’s unlikely his face will be seen in the actual film.

Brett Azar has been brought in to do a similar job for Arnie’s Terminator so it’s unclear if the Austrian-born actor will be making a live-action appearance as his current age.

Filming for the new movie is expected to take place in Budapest, Hungary, as well as several more locations across the world.

The original script was developed by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), Charles Eglee (Dark Angel) and Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) but was rewritten by The Hunger Games’ scribe Billy Ray before production began.

The hope is that this film will be the first of three films that stand up on their own but also fit into a larger three-film narrative that references both Terminator and T2: Judgement Day.

It will not, however, reference any of the plots for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Genisys, which Cameron confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

“This is a continuation of the story from Terminator 1 and Terminator 2. And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream,” he explained. “Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multiverse. This was really driven more by [Tim] than anybody, surprisingly, because I came in pretty agnostic about where we took it.

“The only thing I insisted on was that we somehow revamp it and reinvent it for the 21st century.”
