Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield Fall in Love in ‘We Live in Time’ Trailer
Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield navigate the ups and downs of love and wrestle with the nature of time in the new trailer for the romantic dramedy We Live in Time.
The film, helmed by Brooklyn director John Crowley, stars the two British actors as a couple brought together by near-tragedy — Pugh’s Almut hits Garfield’s Tobias with her car — and, after a decade-long relationship that includes a child together, they are potentially torn apart when Almut is struck by illness. “Every minute counts,” the film’s tagline states.

“Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives,” the film’s synopsis states. “As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.”
A24 will release We Live in Time “this fall,” with Variety reporting an October 11 theatrical release; prior to its arrival, the film will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Additionally, the film’s poster reveals that the National’s Bryce Dessner composed the score for We Live in Time. Benedict Cumberbatch also serves as an executive producer on the movie, which was first revealed in 2023 when Pugh and Garfield presented together at the Academy Awards; later that year, Pugh appeared at the Met Gala with a recently shaved head, which she did for her role in this film.
