The story here isn't that there's some merch for sale at the 2024 WSL Finals at Lower Trestles. That'd be too obvious. The hook is that two of the surf industry's shining beacons of hope, Florence Marine X and Vissla, have combined their efforts and collaborated on the gear. It probably doesn't hurt that the number one seed, one John John Florence, has his sights set on a possible third world title. Timing is everything, after all.

The small collection comprises a tee, hoodie and hat ... but really, what else do you need for cruising at Lowers (besides an ebike, of course)? We saw the first iteration of this partnership at the Pipe Pro and speaks to the continued collaboration between the two brands, whom are both dead set on resurrecting the surf biz to its former glory.

"As two trailblazing brands deeply rooted in the surf community, Vissla and Florence Marine X bring a fresh, innovative approach to surf apparel and gear, making them the perfect fit for the WSL Finals, which celebrates the pinnacle of competitive surfing," reads a presser released by Vissla.

Prior to this year's iteration of the WSL Finals, Rip Curl had been the presenting sponsor of the event. The Torquay-based wetsuit company commissioned artists to help create their merch, but now, with Lexus at the top of the bill, the opportunity for Florence and Vissla presented itself.

If this was a few years ago, a collab like this may not have been possible, but as the two rising stars of the surf industry have decided to work together instead of live in a world of blood feuds, here we are. Surf companies run by surfers for surfers, what a novel concept. You can give the line a peep here.
