Former NFL Stars Make a Bold Prediction About Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Fans aren't the only ones speculating about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's future—retired NFL players have their own opinions about how the relationship should progress.

On the Oct. 24 episode of their podcast Dudes on Dudes, former NFL players Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman talked about possible next steps for Swift and Kelce, and the athletes agreed that the pair should think about starting a family.

“He’s a superstar and he’s dating Taylor Swift,” Edelman said, referring to Kelce. “And they might have a kid. That would be a great kid.”

Gronkowski concurred, saying Kelce and Swift “should have a kid” one day.

“What, would that kid be performing, like, having eight catches a game and then [at] halftime, he’s doing the halftime show?” Gronkowski imagined. “In, like, 24 years? So, it would be like the new Ryan Williams, you know how he’s 17 years old at Alabama? So, their kid would be, like, 14 in college [and] they just surpass middle school because he’s so smart.”

“He’ll be in the league at 18 and then singing and performing,” Gronkowski added. “Dang, they need to have a kid if that’s the case. They gotta.”

In an exclusive interview with Parade in February, 2024, Gronkowski said Kelce is uniquely suited to the level of fame that comes with dating a superstar like Swift.

"I think it's great," the retired tight end said. "I think Travis Kelce is kind of the only guy in the NFL that can handle this type of attention as well."

"He's fun, He's entertaining. And he can handle all the pressure that's thrown out, thrown at him. No doubt," Gronkowski added.
