Fox News host Martha MacCallum says #MeToo could be a 'huge step backward' for women at work
While previewing a discussion about the numerous unwanted touching accusations against former Vice President Joe Biden, Fox News host Martha MacCallum questioned the effects of the #MeToo movement.
Her comments came after showing a clip of Nancy Pelosi describing the “the straight-arm club,” a suggestion she had for Biden while advising him how to better keep his distance.
“This is where we are in the #MeToo moment, everybody, likely in a country where human contact is taboo all thanks to runaway weaponization and politicalization,” MacCallum began. “Now, we are even hearing that there are men who say that they don't even want to have lunch with women that they work with. And some who say they will shy away, maybe, from hiring too many women: ‘It’s just too complicated.’ Well done, America. What a huge step backward all of this could be for women in the workplace.”
Some viewers on Twitter thought MacCallum was not wrong in her statements.

But given the history at Fox News with a sexual harassment scandal and accusations against former chairman, Roger Ailes, people were quick to call out MacCallum for her statements.

Does Fox hire anyone who enjoys the post 1950's world, or do all of them pine for the Mad Men days?

What the actual hell. Get lost with this regressive nonsense, Martha.

MacCallum later said that there has been a lot of “positive movement” with #MeToo as people who committed “egregious and horrible behavior” have been called out. But she said the accusations against Biden are on “the very other end of the spectrum” and might be doing more harm than good.
“It just makes me wonder,” MacCallum said. “If men are going to be wary about hiring women.”
