Fox’s Bryan Singer-Matt Nix X-Men Series: Everything We Know So Far
The X-Men are coming to network television. But it won’t be Wolverine, Storm, or Cyclops, at least not yet. This new series will be a Fox family drama that focuses on two human parents who have to go into hiding when their children develop mutant powers. They’re aided by an underground network of mutants who are being hunted by a hostile government. Matt Nix, who created Burn Notice and APB, is creating the series, and Bryan Singer, who first brought the X-Men to the big screen, will direct the pilot.
Amy Acker, from Angel and Person of Interest, will star as the mother, and Stephen Moyer of HBO’s True Blood will play her husband. Gotham and The Goldbergs’ Natalie Alyn Lind plays their daughter, Lauren, who is “the model of a perfect kid.” Besides that whole having mutant powers thing.
Filling out the cast is Sean Teale playing Marcos Diaz, a mutant with the codename Eclipse, who, according to Deadline, “possesses the ability to absorb and manipulate photons.” He’s new to the X-Men universe.
Jamie Chung plays teleporting mutant Blink, who we previously saw portrayed by Bingbing Fan in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
And Emma Dumont, best known for Aquarius and Bunheads, is Polaris, a mutant with the ability to control magnetism. Considering that this series will exist in the same universe as the X-Men movies and feature the robotic mutant-hunting Sentinels, it could eventually be revealed — SPOILER ALERT — that she is Magneto’s daughter.
