Costa Rica is so renown for its surfing that we wouldn't be surprised if it became the home of future Olympic surfing events. Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been known to head down to the the azure waters to catch a wave or two. In A Costa Rican Wedding, Hallmark Channel's latest Summer Nights movie, a group of friends head down to Costa Rica for a wedding and surfing. It's all sun and games until a literal monkey shows up and throws a wrench in plans.

What is A Costa Rican Wedding about?

West coast surf swells and warm sand are just the distraction Emily (Rhiannon Fish) needs from her most recent breakup. Standing beside her best friend Phoebe (Brittany Carel) as maid of honor is a dream come true, but it quickly turns into a nightmare when a group of rascally monkeys steal Emily’s bag—and the priceless, heirloom wedding rings she was holding onto! Desperate to forgo her clumsy reputation and not be responsible for ruining the wedding, Emily teams up with an unlikely aid, Ryan (Christopher Russell), the best man and her longtime rival. As a local tour guide, Ryan thinks he knows this tropical country but maybe not as well as he thought. Their unexpected misadventure takes them from stunning jungle volcanoes to surreal ancient archaeological sites. By helping each other, Emily and Ryan find a way to get past their old hang-ups and look to find common ground, all the while trying to save the big day.

Rhiannon Fish (Emily)

Rhiannon Fish has starred in several television rom-coms including Team Bride, A Splash of Love and A Love to Remember. She also stars as one-half of the sleuthing sister duo of Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths on Hallmark Mystery. Last year, she starred in My Norwegian Holiday for Hallmark Channel. Fish also starred in Great American Family's A Prince in Paradise and will star in its sequel, A Prince in Paradise 2: A Royal Proposal.

Christopher Russell (Ryan)

Russell has a variety of credits under his belt, including series regular and guest starring roles in Amazon Prime Video’s Jack Reacher series, Dirk gently's Holistic Detective Agency, UnREAL, and Nikita. He most recently starred in Operation Nutcracker on Hallmark Movies Now.
