Furiosa Star Would be Perfect for a Metal Gear Solid Movie, Says Hideo Kojima

After watching Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Hideo Kojima knows who he’d cast in a Metal Gear Solid movie.

That would be Tom Burke, the actor who plays Praetorian Jack. Burke wasn’t seen much in the marketing for the film, but he’s a major presence, serving as Furiosa's lover and mentor in the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road.

Kojima, a legendary video game creator, voiced his affection for Burke, tweeting, “Anya and Chris are great, but what is even more blinding this time are these two,” in reference to both Burke and Furiosa's mother, Mary, played by Charlee Fraser.

“These two new characters are too cool! The actors who played them are sure to be a breakout hit. Furiosa's mother, Mary, is played by Charlee Fraser, who was also in "Anyone But You”. Tom Burke plays Jack, Furiosa's mentor. I could only see him as Snake. When I met Tom at a party, I asked him about it and he told me that he was told that he looked like "Snake" by the crew on the first day of shooting.”

Kojima is allegedly working on producing a Metal Gear Solid movie, which was last rumored to be led by Oscar Isaac. However, Burke’s stand-out performance in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga might just have swayed Kojima.

That's presumably in addition to the Death Stranding movie confirmed by Hideo Kojima.
