Gabrielle Union’s Daughter Kaavia Has Attitude for Days on the Way to School in the Cutest New Photos
School is in session, and coincidentally, Shady Baby is back. Gabrielle Union’s 5-year-old daughter Kaavia James put on her sassy alter-ego on the way to school, and the photos prove she has attitude for days!
“Attitude: unmatched ??,” the post on Kaavia’s Instagram account (run by her parents Union and Dwyane Wade) was captioned. In the first snap, Kaavia sits on her pink booster seat, leaning forward with her chin resting on her hand. She’s wearing white, cat-eye sunglasses with a red fuzzy accessory intertwined around it. Her lips are pursed, a pink Barbie water bottle sits in her cup holder, and she is such a mood.

In another picture, Kaavia lifts her glasses up to look out the window. She’s dressed adorably in her white-and-blue school uniform (complete with white knee-high socks!) and looks pensive and sweet. She’s clearly thinking about the purpose of life — or what game she’s going to play during recess.
The glasses are back on, and the red fuzzy accessory rearranged in another car seat photo, as she holds her water bottle up in a sassy way. In the last photo, Kaavia smiles at school next to a friend, both with backpacks on. Butterflies are Photoshopped all over the adorable picture. I guess the shadiness ends at dropoff!
“My lil beautiful princess has so much vogue attitude ????????????” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “She’s just out here, serVING from her booster seat, and we love to see it!!!! ??????????”
“NYFW is quaking!!! Go Miss Kaavia ??” another wrote. “Kaav is a vibe ??” someone else said.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Bring It On alum opened up about embracing your kid’s personality. “You’re not in control. Like, I wanna make sure she has good manners, she’s kind, she’s compassionate, she’s a student of the world and that she’s got a world perspective, but if she’s gonna be shady, she gonna be shady,” the mom said. “If she wants to dress [in] full accessories to tennis it’s gonna happen… This is who she is.”
And we wouldn’t want her any other way!
