Gabrielle Union Praises Her ‘Miracle’ Daughter Kaavia on Her 6th Birthday: ‘We Love You Beyond Measure’
It doesn’t seem possible, but somehow, Shady Baby is 6 years old! (If you need a second to wipe your eyes, we get it.) Gabrielle Union shared the sweetest tribute to her “miracle” daughter Kaavia, who she shares with husband Dwyane Wade, and it’ll leave you misty-eyed.
“Miss Kaavia James Union Wade is 6 today!!!” the Bring It On alum captioned a post celebrating her daughter. “You are a miracle who has blessed everyone with your kindness, compassion, elite humor, intelligence and your loving soul. You are a gift to your family, blood and chosen, and so many people across the world.”

Union continued, “We love you beyond measure and we celebrate your cute little self daily!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN KAAVIA!!!” So sweet!
The heartfelt post also included several photos of Kaavia throughout her life, including a recent snap of Kaavia wearing a sparkling cream-colored dress as her parents hold her, a video of Kaavia taking photos of her parents on the red carpet, and other adorable pictures of her as a newborn baby.
In one video, Wade talks to her about her birthday celebration as they hang out in the guest room, including how she doesn’t have to go to school on her actual birthday because it’s “the greatest time” of her life. Such a sweet perspective! In another video, Kaavia looks at the camera and asks, “What’s wrong with you two, Mom, Dad?” before going into a hilarious monologue. She is so dang entertaining!
The Riff Raff star explained more about her posts on her Instagram story. “All she wanted was a big girl bedroom for her birthday,” Union wrote, which explains why she was hanging out in the guest room with her dad the night before the big day. In the post teasing her parents, Union wrote, “This is her response to me and D telling her we would be drinking wine in her playhouse while she’s at school ??” It all makes sense now!

Fans — including lots of celebrities — commented on Union’s post to wish Kaavia a happy birthday. “It just goes too fast ?????” Jeannie Mai wrote. Tia Mowry said, “Happy Birthday ????????”
“HBD!! What a bright light in this world,” Olivia Munn commented. Abbot Elementary’s Quinta Brunson said, “Happy Kaav day ??”
Wade also shared an inside look into how Kaavia celebrated her birthday on Thursday. She was in an all-pink room with Barbie playhouses, with two women dressed like real Barbie dolls who came to play with her.
“A real life Barbie play date to start her birthday morning!” he wrote on his Instagram story. What a princess! He also shared a picture of Kaavia smiling in her pink heart pajamas with the two life-sized “Barbies” next to her. What an icon.
In another picture, Wade shared the little outdoor clubhouse where Kaavia’s new bright-pink Barbie room was located, complete with two guard dogs hanging outside. She is growing up so fast!
As if there was any doubt, it’s Kaavia’s world and we’re all just living in it.
