Gal Gadot Didn't Know She Was Auditioning for ‘Wonder Woman’
There’s a lot of excitement building around Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, thanks in part to the inclusion of Wonder Woman in the film. Gal Gadot stopped by Ellen and discussed her role in the upcoming movie. During the audition process, Gadot had no idea she was going for the part of the iconic female superhero. “I didn’t know what I was auditioning for,” said Gadot. “They said it was ‘super confidential; you’re just going to read a scene with Zack Snyder.’”
The reading went well, and Snyder brought Gadot back for a camera test with Ben Affleck. At this point, she was still uncertain what exactly was going on. Finally, Snyder informed the actress that the test would be for Wonder Woman. “Then I went dead for like 5 seconds,” Gadot said, “came back to life and I tried to pull off my coolest voice saying, ‘Wonder Woman, yeah yeah, I’ve heard of her.’” After the screen test, Gadot waited two weeks before hearing the good news — news she had to keep quiet until it was officially announced.
