'Game of Thrones': Winter has come to Las Vegas with a spectacular fountain show
This isn’t an April Fool’s joke: Winter has come to Las Vegas. From April 1 through April 13, the desert metropolis is hosting a spectacular Game of Thrones sound-and-light show at the Bellagio Hotel’s world-famous Fountains of Bellagio. Backed by the rousing Thrones theme, the four-minute show brings the fire (and ice) through larger-than-life video projections that cast images of flying dragons and menacing Night Kings against moving walls of water. Designed and choreographed by WET Design, the show makes use of 800 fountains, each one timed with the exact precision necessary to transport audiences from Las Vegas to Westeros.
The free show will be performed twice a night over the next two weeks, once at 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m.
Why is April 13 the last night, you ask? Because April 14 is the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones ... which means that everyone in Las Vegas is going to be inside the Bellagio watching the episode. Unless the hotel decides to just broadcast the entire thing on their water wall.
The final season of Game of Thrones premieres Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
