It’s Game Over For Sloan on Days of our Lives, While Everett Goes Off the Rails
E.J. gave Sloan an ultimatum from which she won’t be able to escape, on the May 21 episode of Days of Our Lives. Also, as Eric attempted to find out what was upsetting her, Everett misinterpreted his actions and snapped.
It’s Either the Hoosegow, or Tahiti For Sloan
At Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty), E.J. (Daniel Feuerriegel) told her that the kiss between Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) changed everything, and he was going to take baby Jude. She pulled out her old arguments again that he wouldn’t want to raise a baby that wasn’t his and that he would lose his wife to Eric. He felt that if Nicole got Jude back, her maternal instincts would kick in, and she’d quit her job to focus on the baby, and they would regard it as a miracle. Sloan then threatened to tell everyone that Eric was the bio dad, to which a cagey E.J. laid out an ultimatum: she would relinquish Jude to him, and in turn, he would set her up with a new identity in another country, with a full bank account, and gave her 24 hours to make up her mind.
Playing hardball, E.J. has finally drawn a line in the sand and is willing to reveal the baby switch secret once and for all, consequences be damned. This may not be the right move, as Sloan pointed out to him, but his rebuttal that no matter how it ends, she’ll be in jail and not him was hard for her to argue against. Being backed into such an unwinnable corner, she went into a tailspin.
After dropping the baby off with Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kate (Lauren Koslow), Sloan seemed to have disappeared. Eric eventually found her at a restaurant where Leo (Greg Rikaart), Everett (Blake Berris), and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) were eating, and she was getting drunk. When Eric tried to get Sloan to tell him what was wrong, she yelled at him, so Leo — who refused to drink that evening — went over to try to calm her down, to no avail. (Who knew Leo would end up being the mature one in a situation?)
Everett Went Ballistic
As Eric was trying to get Sloan to leave, Everett heard their words, which sounded, from his point of view, like her husband was being abusive. It was clear that the situation had somehow triggered Everett. After she drove off Leo with her words and started to physically resist Eric, who was trying to get her to leave the bar, Everett’s demeanor got even weirder. He finally rushed over and punched Eric in the face, knocking him back to everyone’s shock.
This merging of the two storylines, Everett’s memory issues, and the baby swap is brilliant, as things may come to a head for everyone involved. Not only does Sloan have no recourse but to confess the truth to Eric, but Everett is going to be pressured by everyone involved, including Steph, to seek help and get to the bottom of his Bobby/Everett conundrum once and for all.
Pop Culture Reference of the Day
When Leo saw Sloan getting drunk, he mentioned to Everett and Stephanie that it was out of character for her. (We guess he probably doesn’t know about the time she was wasted when John and Marlena came to their house for dinner.) He referred to her as “Sex and the Pity,” which is a riff on Sex and the City, a popular late-1990s comedy/drama TV series starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.
