The Garfield Movie Gets New Digital and Physical Release Date

The Garfield Movie just hit theaters in May, and already it is slinking onto video-on-demand platforms for you to enjoy from home if you missed it or just want to watch that lasagna-loving feline get up to no good on repeat.

Chris Pratt voices the titular cat and joins a plethora of talent, including Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, Snoop Dogg, Janelle James and Angus Cloud.

The film was the fourth directorial effort of Mark Dindal, whose filmography includes The Emperor's New Groove and Chicken Little, and was written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and the Oscar-nominated screenwriter behind Finding Nemo, David Reynolds.

The Garfield Movie isn't likely to see any Oscar nominations as critics panned it, giving it a measly 36% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences warmed to it more, granting it an admirable 80%.

The Garfield Movie is available now for pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray but does not yet have a confirmed release date.

Prices range from $22.99 for a DVD copy and climb to $24.99 for the Blu-ray.

Is The Garfield Movie Available to Stream in the US?

The Garfield Movie does not currently have a confirmed US streaming release date, but many Sony releases find their way onto Netflix at some point, so it's expected that the film will head there in the future.
