Geena Davis and Several Rockford Peaches Staged a ‘League of Their Own’ Reunion Game
For the second year in a row, Geena Davis organized a League of Their Own reunion game during the Bentonville Film Festival, an event she co-founded in an effort to champion more female and diverse voices in filmmaking.
The female contingent was certainly in full force for the game; in addition to Davis, her fellow Rockford Peaches teammates, Megan Cavanaugh (Marla Hooch), Ann Cusack (Shirley Baker), Tracy Reiner (Betty “Spaghetti” Horn), Anne Ramsay (Helen Haley), Patti Pelton (Marbleann Wilkenson), and Freddie Simpson (Ellen Sue Gotlander) all suited up and got on the field. Most of them can be seen in this Instagram photo taken with Gina Casey, actual former member of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League, who threw out the first pitch.

According to Arkansas Online, the game, played between teams comprised of celebrities, local business executives and actual athletes, was a blow-out. The blue team, managed by Davis, crushed the red team, managed by Cavanaugh, 20-4. But no one got too upset because, as we all know, there’s no crying in baseball, and there’s definitely no crying in League of Their Own reunion baseball.
