General Hospital Casts All My Children Vet Alexa Havins as New Lulu

Look who’s finally waking up! General Hospital‘s Lulu Spencer, who has been in a coma since sustaining injuries from a bomb blast in December 2020, is said to be making a miraculous comeback in the near future — with All My Children alumna Alexa Havins stepping into the role, TVLine has confirmed. She will make her first appearance later this fall.

Though Lulu recently took a turn for the worse, we’ve been predicting an awakening for quite some time now, ever since Jonathan Jackson reentered the picture last month as Lulu’s brother Luke Spencer.

Along with the young actresses who portrayed Lulu in her earlier years, the character has most notably been played by Stephanie Allen (2001–03), Tessa Allen (2004–05), Julie Marie Berman (2005–13) and Emme Rylan (2013–2020).

Havins is best known for originating the role of AMC‘s Babe Carey, a character she also played on ABC’s now-defunct One Life to Live. Havins also has appeared on episodes of Castle, CSI: Miami and Grey’s Anatomy, among many others.

This reported casting is just one of several major recent developments for the long-running ABC soap, the most notable being Kelly Monaco’s shocking departure from Port Charles after spending 21 seasons as Sam McCall. Other comings and goings include the departures of Michael Easton as Hamilton Finn and Jacqueline Grace Lopez as Blaze. Meanwhile, Emma Samms is set to return as Holly Sutton, and Rick Hearst recently stepped back into the role of Ric Lansing.
