General Hospital is about to have a wedding, which will be about new beginnings. The event will also bring a new actor and character to Port Charles — Giovanni Mazza is set to play Brook Lynn’s cousin.

During the week of May 13, Mazza portrays Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) cousin, Giovanni Cerullo, Deadline reported. Get ready for a big treat because, during the nuptials, Giovanni will play the violin. Mazza is also a violinist in real life. Some soap fans may have heard him play the National Anthem for the Lakers Western Conference Final Game 3 last year (which you can watch below), many other NBA games throughout the country, or on other television shows.

In addition to being a musician, Mazza is also an actor. He started his career at age 8 when he did a Walmart campaign. In addition to local Chicago films, the young actor also had a speaking role on Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs.

Will Giovanni stick around Port Charles after Brook Lynn and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding? We wouldn’t be surprised since he’d help liven up the soap’s teen scene.
