General Hospital Star Cameron Mathison Is Taking on a Brand-New Role
On General Hospital, Cameron Mathison has taken on a new surname for his character Drew — Quartermaine — and a new goal as he’s running for Congress. Away from Port Charles, the actor is taking on a new gig, too. He and fan favorite Candace Cameron Bure of Full House fame are set to appear in a new holiday film.
For Whom the Jingle Bell Tolls
According to TV Insider, Mathison and Bure are set to star in the new original holiday film, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. It’s going to be premiere in November as part of Great American Family’s series Great American Christmas 2024.
Bure plays Gracie, a wedding planner who has an optimistic view of life. She feels there are no problems but rather “only solutions waiting to be discovered.”
Enter Charlie, played by Mathison, who is hoping to help create a magical Christmas Eve wedding at the Peachtree Inn for his sister Lindsay and her groom Josh. Surprisingly, optimistic Gracie turns down the assignment, believing there’s no way the perfect wedding can happen in only two weeks.
Will Gracie change her mind? Is love going to end up in her holiday stocking in the form of Charlie?
Bure and Mathison have more than this particular project in common. Both were competitors on Dancing With the Stars. Mathison competed in Season 5 of the dancing competition reality series. He came in 5th place. Bure went to the finals in Season 18, coming in 3rd place.
Currently, Mathison’s story on GH has kicked into high gear as he’s locked lips with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). The actor previewed to Soap Hub earlier this year that he’d be having more scenes with MacMullen. “She’s a dream,” Cameron Mathison told Soap Hub of MacMullen. “[Katelyn] is a very special human. I think she does a great job with Willow. I feel that that relationship [between Drew and Willow] is really special.”
