George Stephanopoulos revealed on “Good Morning America” Monday that he has tested positive for coronavirus, although he has remained asymptomatic.

The diagnosis, he told colleagues on the ABC News program, was “really no surprise,” given that his wife, comic actor Ali Wentworth, has been grappling with the illness for several days. Stephanopoulos and his family have been self-quarantined for several days.

“I’ve never had a fever, never had chills, never had a headache, never had cough, never had shortness of breath,” Stephanopoulous said on “GMA” Monday monrning.

Like many other morning programs, “GMA” has been featuring its anchors either sitting farther apart on set or holding forth from home. Robin Roberts told viewers in late March she would start doing her anchoring duties from home, out of caution because of her previous medical history. Roberts has grappled with a bone-marrow disease in the past.

NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “CBS This Morning” have also had their anchor teams disperse due to coronavirus.
