CBS is ready to see more of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

The network has ordered nine more episodes of the comedy, a spinoff of Young Sheldon that follows Sheldon’s older brother, Georgie (Montana Jordan), and his wife Mandy (Emily Osment) as they face the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage. The additional episodes will bring the show’s order to 22 for the season.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is the third show in the Big Bang Theory franchise, and is set between the time periods of the long-running original and prequel Young Sheldon, whose seven-season run ended in May. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland are co-creators and executive producers of the show from Warner Bros. Television, Lorre’s long-time studio home.

“With the resounding success of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, we were instantly on board when Chuck, Steven and Steve brought us the idea to further explore this world through Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “The enthusiastic audience reception has demonstrated the enormous appeal of these characters, and we can’t wait to see all of the hilarious fun this season will undoubtedly deliver.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has started strong for CBS, averaging just under 6.5 million same-day viewers over its first two episodes, according to Nielsen — second only to fellow CBS rookie Matlock (6.68 million) among first-year series this fall. Data from measurement service VideoAmp (which CBS is using while in a contract dispute with Nielsen) and internal streaming figures from Paramount+ put the show’s debut episode at 10.6 million cross-platform viewers after seven days, ahead of Young Sheldon’s final season premiere in February.

Along with Jordan and Osment, the show also stars Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin and Jessie Prez.
