Geraldo calls out Charlie Kirk for continuing to claim Trump could win: 'That is so dishonest'

Geraldo Rivera called out conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on Monday’s The Story With Martha MacCallum for continuing to claim that President Trump still has a chance to win the election. Trump’s legal team has suffered dozens of losses in court while attempting to prove voter fraud or other irregularities in an attempt to overturn the election, and earlier in the day the the Electoral College affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. Even the Supreme Court, containing three Trump appointees, unanimously rejected two lawsuits aimed at helping Trump.

As Kirk began to go through a litany of things that have already been rejected by multiple courts, Rivera had heard enough.

“Some of these, by the way, are still being played out,” Kirk said. “There are still plenty of pending legal challenges. There are hundreds, some people say…” “That is so dishonest,” Rivera interrupted. “That is so dishonest.”

Rivera pointed to the weeks of unsuccessful litigation on the part of Trump’s team along with the Supreme Court rejections, as proof that the president has exhausted all avenues to overturn the election.

“For six weeks. We have litigated this for six weeks,” Rivera said. “Twice the Supreme Court of the United States have rejected it. Nine to nothing, including all three Trump associate justices. You have to stop this.”

Millions of Trump supporters still refuse to believe that the president lost the election and believe it was stolen, as Trump has claimed on multiple occasions. Kirk said that 75 to 80 percent of Americans (he presumably meant Republicans) believe it was stolen. Rivera blamed Trump for the millions of his supporters who are unable or unwilling to accept reality.

“To persist in insisting, against the Supreme Court, against the scores of lawsuits that have gone against him ... that’s why these people — they believe him. They love him. They are following his lead,” Rivera said. “It is the president who is instilling in these people the false sense that they have been jipped.”

Rivera has been outspoken recently about the need for Trump to accept his loss, and with the Electoral College’s vote tally on Monday, Rivera reiterated that point saying that the longer Trump drags this on, the worse it will be for the country.

“It is over. I want the president, my friend, the current president, the 45th president to understand it is over. The Electoral College has voted,” Rivera said. “The longer we drag this out, the more we damage the fabric of our democracy.”

The Story With Martha MacCallum airs weeknights at 7 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
