Getting Ready With Brandon Flynn in Tanner Fletcher for the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards
“I have a big ruffle around my neck and I just feel served up,” said Brandon Flynn on the red carpet at the CFDA Awards Monday evening. “I feel like I’m ready to be devoured.”
The actor, best known for the series “13 Reasons Why,” was the guest of Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, the design duo behind Tanner Fletcher. The pair were up for the Shop With Google American Emerging Designer of the Year award at this year’s CFDAs, and for the occasion they dressed Flynn in a coordinating look of an ivory poplin blouse and brown striped wool suit.

“I feel so honored to be invited into Tanner and Fletcher’s curious world,” Flynn said. “Their style embodies such a rich fascination with what came before, what’s to come, tied up in a beautiful big bow — and that’s why they call it the present.”
“It’s such an honor to be nominated for CFDAs emerging designer of the year,” Richie and Kasell said. “We’re so thankful to have had Brandon Flynn as our guest. We love showing up to events like these bringing big queer energy. This is just the start for Tanner Fletcher.”
The trio got ready at the brand’s 1850’s studio, which used to be a ceramic studio. After “getting all gold up in a crooner style hairdo,” Flynn had a smoke break on the fire escape before the designers started dressing him “layer by layer.”
“Buckling shoes, buttoning cuffs and tying bows. Speaking of tying bows, Tanner does this part to ensure the bows are perfectly balanced and falling in all the right places,” Kasell said.
Once Flynn was dressed, “we made him sit here until we leave so his bow doesn’t get wrinkled. Ha!”
After portraits of Flynn — “the handsomest guest of all” — they piled into the car to make their way to the American Museum of Natural History.
“Blazers on, bows tied, music turned up,” the pair said. “Blasting ‘Sunset Blvd’ and getting our musical theater on.”
