Getting serious? Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin get matching tattoos
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have been dating for only about a year, but things are looking serious: The Coldplay rocker and Fifty Shades of Grey star just got matching tattoos.
Johnson debuted her new ink over the weekend at the Venice Film Festival, where she is promoting her new film, Suspiria. While waving to photographers, an infinity sign with “xx” within it was visible below her left elbow. Martin stepped out in Los Angeles days earlier sporting the same tattoo on his right forearm.
Neither Martin, 41, nor Johnson, 28, has publicly spoken about their relationship.
The super-private couple was first spotted on a date in October 2017. They were photographed getting affectionate after the new year, and in February they attended Ellen DeGeneres‘s star-studded 60th birthday party together — alongside the singer’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. (And Martin’s ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence.)
Paltrow — who is engaged to Brad Falchuk — and Martin have two children together: daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12. It’s unclear if Johnson has spent time with the kids. Martin and Paltrow have remained solid co-parents and friends since they consciously uncoupled in 2014; however, the Goop CEO hasn’t publicly shared her thoughts on her ex-husband’s relationship.
As for Johnson, her famous family definitely approves. “I adore him!” the actress’s mother, Melanie Griffith, told People a few months ago. “But she is very private about her life, and I respect that.”
Looks like these two may be here to stay for a while.
