'Ghostbusters: Afterlife': Bust some ghosts with the Spengler's Neutrona Wand from Hasbro (exclusive)
Harold Ramis may be gone, but Egon Spengler’s spirit is alive and well in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Jason Reitman’s highly-anticipated sequel to his father Ivan Reitman’s 1984 comedy classic. As early trailers have revealed, the new film follows Egon’s grown daughter Callie (Carrie Coon) and her kids Phoebe and Trevor (Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard) back to the Spengler homestead in small-town Oklahoma. It isn’t long before the children uncover their grandfather’s ghostbusting career via mementos he left behind. But we’re not talking mementos like photographs and letters — think mementos like plasma beams and ghost traps.
Thanks to Hasbro, you can bring one of Egon’s inventions into your own home: this fall, the toy giant is debuting Spengler’s Neutrona Wand as part of the toy giant’s Ghostbusters Plasma Series line. The blaster is already showcased in Afterlife’s trailer, as his grandkids attempt to capture a familiar-looking green poltergeist and cause lots of property damage in the process.
No actual plasma shoots out of this particular Neutrona Wand, which retails for $99.99, but it does come with movie-accurate sounds, as well as an LED-powered proton stream. Meanwhile, the rumble feedback generated by an internal motor gives you a small taste of the power that Egon and his ghostbusting buddies felt when they had to keep their plasma streams trained on Zuul during that epic rooftop battle. And speaking of Zuul, you can also change your busting mode with the simple flip of a switch as you hunt bigger and badder ghosts. With Spengler’s Neutrona Wand in your hand, you’ll feel like one of the real Ghostbusters.
Hasbro’s Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Neutrona Wand will be available in fall 2020 and can be pre-ordered now from Hasbro Pulse.
