Gigi Hadid Commemorated Her Daughter Khai's Birthday With the Sweetest Tribute

"Happy birthday mama's angel!"

Where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday that Gigi Hadid and her ex-boyfriend, Zayn Malik, announced that they welcomed a child together. But, alas, it wasn't yesterday—it was exactly four years ago. To commemorate her baby girl, Khai, turning 4 years old today, Hadid took to her Instagram Story to share a super-sweet video of her daughter.

In the flick, the model films herself pushing Khai on a swing in a tree-filled park at golden hour. The 4-year-old's birthday outfit consisted of a sky-blue long-sleeve T-shirt with thumb holes, white leggings, and sneakers. Khai's chestnut-colored locks were styled in two braids, each secured with a pink bow.

"4 years of YOU," Hadid captioned the video. "Happy Birthday mama's Angel!"

Hadid also posted a picture of a rainbow-colored cake with colorful sprinkles, along with a kid's compartmentalized plate holding raspberries and a slice of cake with two lit candles in it. "Cake 4 bday breakfast always," she wrote over the photo in red text.

Ahead of Khai's third birthday, Hadid told W Magazine how much fun raising her daughter has been.

“We get ready together,” Hadid told the publication. “She watches me do my thing. She’ll brush her teeth with me, and now she’s wanting to put moisturizer on, which is so cute." Hadid went on to say that they go on play dates, enjoy park time, and occasionally visit The Sloomoo Institute, a slime museum in New York.

“She really makes me laugh,” Hadid continued. “We crack up and dance all day and talk a lot. She’s almost 3, and she is a genius, if I do say so myself.”

The Guest in Residence founder gave her fans another rare glimpse into life with her little one last month. She posted a summer photo dump to Instagram that included a picture of Khai's hand in hers, a snap of the two of them sitting on a rock by a stream, another of Khai drinking water from a garden hose, one of her cradling Khai in her lap, a photo of Khai out by a pool wearing a robe emblazoned with her name, and one of her daughter and a friend looking at ice cream.
