Gina Carano denies she destroyed her own career with Nazi posts

Gina Carano has denied she destroyed her own career after making Twitter posts comparing the Holocaust to the divisive political climate in the US.

As a result of the controversy, Carano was fired from her role in The Mandalorian and has since been working on small projects with a right wing slant.

Responding to criticism from a journalist who said she had "dumped" her own career, Carano hit back on Twitter.

She wrote: "Here is a contributor of @THR who repeatedly joins in an online mob of mostly anonymous accounts harassing me."

Carano then went on to say: "I didn’t fumble the bag I just didn’t go along with the sell out narrative, the online mob couldn’t handle that so they petitioned to have me fired & won."

The former MMA fighter also insisted she had no regrets: "I’m not sorry for that. I stood for what I believe the right thing to do was & the more time that goes by the better I feel."

In 2021, Carano shared a post that said: "Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"

Lucasfilm subsequently said they had no plans to work with her on any Star Wars projects going forward after it was reported she was in line to get her own spin-off from The Mandalorian.

Since 2020, Carano had made a number of controversial posts online about the Covid-19 pandemic, conspiracy theories and transgender rights.

Carano also starred in My Son Hunter alongside Laurence Fox, a film accused of spreading conspiracy theories about the Biden family.
